My 15 month old still doesn't talk a lot. She says mama, dada, dog, and bye bye. Friends tell me that language development really starts to pick up as they approach one year.

From my friends' experiences, this is perfectly normal. And little ones develop at such a different pace, it's hard to measure, you know?

Baby K is the exact same way. The pedi and the waht to expect books say it is natural. As they develop new skills or focus on the development of them previous ones take a back seat. They are still there, but they don't feel the need "practice" them.
